I am a licensed Clinical Psychologist and I have been facilitating individual, couples, and family therapy in the private practice setting since 2004. I earned my Doctorate in Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology (CSPP), San Diego in 2003, my Masters of Arts degree in Clinical Psychology from CSPP, San Diego in 2001, and my Bachelors of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of California, Santa Cruz in 1998.
In addition to my private practice, I have had the opportunity to work with children, adolescents, and adults in various settings such as school settings, residential programs, substance abuse programs, transitional living facilities, group homes, and hospital settings. My experiences in these settings enables me to bring valuable knowledge and resources to my clients in my private practice.
I specialize in Cognitive Behavior Therapy, which is an evidenced based solution-focused therapy that teaches clients positive approaches to viewing themselves, their relationships, and their world. Cognitive Behavior Therapy uses real techniques and coping skills in order to implement lasting change. Cognitive Behavior Therapy requires the client and the therapist to work collaboratively as a team in order to help the client solve his or her problems in a safe and trusting environment. The aim for Cognitive Behavior Therapy is to help clients learn how to be their own therapist so that they can cope with the difficult situations that are bringing them to therapy as well as situation that may arise in the future.
